Admission Procedure

The first step is for parents to complete an application form available online or from the Centre.

The completed application along with required documentation (as stated on the application form) should be returned to us at the Centre. The student will then be placed on a waiting list and parents will be contacted to arrange an initial assessment.

Documents Required :

1.       A Complete application form available online or from the Centre.

2.       2 passport size photos of the child.

3.       ID copies of parents & passport copy of the child.

4.       Immunisation record of the child.

5.       Previous assessment/diagnosis or progress report if any.

Prospective students are evaluated before admission can be granted. The purpose of this is to:

Assess the child’s developmental level in cognitive, speech and language skills and physical development

Decipher what would be the most appropriate classroom

Create an Individual Education Plan (IEP) with input from SBS multi-disciplinary team

Offer the best educational and therapy program for the developmental age of the student

Implement the best possible program as soon as possible

Following the initial assessment, a full screening will be made by a SBS

Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist and Speech Therapist. Then SBS assessment records will be reviewed by the Multi-Disciplinary Team comprised of teachers and therapists. Based on the results of this review, the child may then be enrolled into a class appropriate to his/her specific needs. If it is decided that the SBS program is not suited to the student’s needs, the team will help parents explore other available alternatives.
